Although nutritionists advise us to be careful with sweet things, desserts are on the menu of many, not to mention children and adolescents. And the truth is that anything that is not abused cannot harm us, and especially for teenagers, sweets are something that children should not be deprived of, as long as certain limits are observed.

If we look at desserts as something that can be healthy, since it gives us a lot of energy, it's good to think about whether we can prepare sweets ourselves that look attractive enough for our little ones and not rush in the hustle and bustle of the shops, looking for desserts that, although interesting at first glance, have a completely unclear composition. People have long said that homemade food is the best.

Recipes for cakes and sweets can be found everywhere, but it is important how to decorate them to attract the attention of your children, family, relatives and friends. Almost no holiday is complete without festive cake anyway.

Here are some options for original cake decorations that you can make easily and quickly at home.

Chocolate decoration

It is made from tempered chocolate. This happens when it is allowed to melt and cool slightly, but without solidifying. If you fill it in a piping bag, you can draw any shapes you like on baking paper, wait for them to harden and attach them to the prepared dessert. If you lack imagination, you can also use standard cookie cutters.

Cake Batter Decorations

Decorated sponge cake, rolls and pastries, which is made from cake batter, which should not be too thick. Separately mix 25 g of flour, butter, powdered sugar, 1 egg white and 1 tbsp. cocoa and with this mixture placed in a piping bag, the desired motifs are drawn on baking paper. It is left for about 30 minutes in the refrigerator until it hardens, and then the batter is poured on it and baked. Once ready, the sponge cake is carefully separated from the paper and can serve as the top of any pastry.

Fruit decoration

And the most ordinary cake will look great if you decorate it with seasonal fruits. Small fruits such as raspberries, blueberries, strawberries, chokeberries, and even bananas, cut into pieces, can be rolled in sugar or chocolate and placed on your cake. But this way of decorating is only suitable if you eat the cake quickly.

Jelly decoration

You can decorate the cake with fruits by dipping each one for seconds in water in which you have dropped a few drops of lemon juice. After that, each fruit is dipped in gelatin dissolved in water and slightly heated and after they are arranged on the cake, they are smeared with jelly once more with the help of a brush.

Fruit compotes can be used to decorate cakes, after arranging them on the cake, they are poured with gelatin dissolved in water and heated.

White frosting with biscuits and sticks

After you have prepared your cake you can make a frosting of beaten egg whites with sugar. To do this, beat 3 egg whites with 3 cups of sugar. Use a mixer on high speed. In 5 minutes you will get a thick cream with which you can spread the whole cake. Now it is a snow-white canvas on which you can express your creativity.

Take a box of Chocolate Biscuits and a packet of multi-colored candy canes. Carefully cut the round biscuits so that they are halved in the shape of two identical semi-circles. We will use these semi-circles to assemble flower-shaped figures on the white frosting of the cake. Then you can sprinkle the multi-colored sprinkles so that you get a beautiful multi-colored effect on the cake.

Flowers and flower petals

They are perhaps the most original decoration for any dessert because they look quite natural. Although they are not edible, they add a really festive look to the cakes. If you spread the leaves with melted chocolate, let it set and separate, you will have gorgeous chocolate leaves to decorate your cakes and desserts.

Jam cake decoration

Homemade jams are great for decorating cakes, but you have to be aware that you can't just pour the jam on the cake. Our suggestion is to drop half a spoonful of the jam on the edges of your cake at equal distances from each other and with the help of a brush gently connect the edges of the formed dots of jam so that you get a wavy continuous line.

Decoration from available materials

These can be ribbons in the form of garlands, roses from thick drawing paper, butterflies from colored paper and even miniature plastic toys if they are for a children's dessert, but you must warn kids, however, that they are not for eating, but only for decoration.
