That we are fasting does not mean that you should completely give up sweet delights. You just have to prepare meatless desserts. Here's how:
Lent Cake
For the position of cake are required minimized products. You need only:
1 2/3 cups jam, 1/2 cup oil, 3 cups flour, 2 teaspoons baking soda, raisins and walnuts (optional)
The preparation is not difficult. Jam is crashed with 1 cup lukewarm water. To this is added the oil and flour, mixed with baking soda. The mixture was stirred well. To this, add dried fruit and nuts, if desired. Cake bakes in a greased and floured pan in a preheated oven.
Another sweet idea for the post period is meager apple pie, you can literally tempt anyone. For it, you need:
1 ½ cup flour, ¼ cup cocoa, 1 teaspoon baking soda, ¼ cup oil, 1 teaspoon lemon juice, a pinch of salt, 1 cup apple juice, ¼ cup applesauce, 1 vanilla/cinnamon, 1 cup apples (peeled and chopped in cubes), 1 cup sugar
In a bowl, mix the flour with half the sugar, cocoa, salt and baking powder. In another bowl, mix the apple juice, oil, lemon juice and chilled applesauce. Chopped apple cubes are mixed with half the sugar and cinnamon.
To the flour mixture is added to the other liquid ingredients, and apples. Resultant mix is stirred itil it’s homogeneous mixture. Bake in pre-heated the oven for about 30-something minutes.
Another lean and sweet delicacy is strudel with marshmallows and walnuts. It is something between cake and pie. For this, you need 500 g phyllo pastry, 200 g turkish delight, 1 kg apples, 1 and 1/2 cup sugar, 1 cup walnuts, 1 cup carbonated water, 5 tablespoons oil, cinnamon, raisins, powdered sugar.
In pan, pace three phyllo sheets, on which are placed a little grated apples, raisins, marshmallows, sugar, cinnamon, nuts and oil. Over them, line up three sheets on which you make the same stuffing, add three more and so on until you have finished the crusts.
While crude, the cake is cut like a cake, and the slots are watered with carbonated water and a little oil. Bake in pre-heated the oven to 390°F (200 °C). When ready, while still hot, sprinkle with powdered sugar.
