These cute little muffins are extremely delicious and appetizing. In addition to being a nice snack or treat for friends, when properly decorated, they can be a delicious alternative to cake.
Muffins can be covered with different types of muffin glaze, decorated with buttercream, applied with a piping bag or various decorations made of sugar fondant can be stuck on top.
Glazing is extremely easy. One of the most prepared glazes is egg white glaze, which is prepared from egg whites, lemon juice, vanilla and sugar. Two egg whites are beaten in a water bath until foamy, about 130 g of sugar, 1 pack. vanilla and 3 tbsp. lemon juice are gradually added.
The resulting cream is applied using a piping bag, and if desired, chocolate sprinkles can be sprinkled on top.
If you are a chocolate fan, you can decorate the muffins with chocolate glaze, for which you need 150 g of chocolate, 2/3 cup powdered sugar, 60 g of butter and 1 tbsp. cream.
Melt the chocolate with the cream and butter in a water bath, add the powdered sugar and glaze the muffins with the resulting mixture. You can find recipes for buttercream on our website. It is applied in a similar way to chocolate glaze.
Preparing sugar fondant decoration isn't for novices in the kitchen. If you don't have the time to make it, you can buy ready-made fondant from stores and work with it like play dough.
If you still decide to make your own fondant for decorations, you need to prepare 1 tbsp. gelatin, 4 cups sifted powdered sugar, 1/2 cup cornstarch, 1 pinch of tartaric acid and various confectionery dyes. The gelatin is dissolved in cold water to swell, then liquefied in a water bath.
The sugar and starch are sifted on the counter, a well is made in the middle, into which the gelatin and tartaric acid are poured. A soft dough is kneaded, which is wrapped in transparent foil and stored in the refrigerator. Decorations can be formed from it, which can be attached to the muffins with the help of a little buttercream.
