How to make
The lemons are washed well under running lukewarm water, using the reverse rough side of a household sponge.
The uppermost part of the peel is grated on a fine grater, by being careful not to grate the white part.
Squeeze the juice from the lemons and remove the seeds.
Boil the water on the stove in a suitable pot along with the sugar. Add the lemon peels and boil for 10 minutes. Then pour the lemon juice and leave the liquid to boil for another 5 minutes, then leave it to cool.
The cooled lemon-sugar syrup is transferred to a suitable glass jar and the vodka is added.
The Homemade Limoncello is stored in a dry and dark place for about a week and the jar should be shaken every day.
The limoncello is then strained and transferred into glass bottles.
The liqueur is served chilled or used in different cocktails!
