How to Make Muffins - a Beginners Guide

Muffins are mini cupcakes baked in special silicone (paper) molds or aluminum muffin trays, usually suitable for making 12 of them.

They are extremely tasty, practical, with an interesting shape and the right healthy breakfast for each of us. Here are some tips for making muffins easily!

- To avoid overdoing the muffin mix, first mix the wet ingredients from your recipe together in a bowl and the dry ingredients in a separate bowl. Then make a well in the dry ingredients, pour the liquid ingredients and mix well, but not too long, until homogenous.

- Mix the spices from the muffin recipe with all the other ingredients, but add the fruit, nuts and chocolate drops to the batter last.

- The muffin tins are filled up to 3/4 of their volume with the prepared mixture and must be greased in advance. When using a muffin pan, you can add a paper liner. Extremely practical and stylish!

- To add better flavor and softness to muffins for beginners, replace half of the butter in your recipe with sour cream, and add baking soda to the recipe in addition to baking powder. The baking soda helps brown the outside of the muffins.

- It is desirable that the dough for the muffins is thicker. This gives you a guarantee that the muffins will rise and be soft, light and airy.

- Bake the muffins initially in a preheated oven at a high temperature (180°C) for about 5 minutes, then reduce the heat. Initially, the high temperature helps to raise the muffins, and lowering the temperature helps to bake them evenly and thoroughly. Baking muffins does not take more than 15-20 minutes. If your oven has a fan, it's a good idea to use it. Check the muffins with a wooden stick, if the batter does not stick to it, the muffins are ready.

- After removing the finished muffins from the oven, allow them to cool for a few minutes, then remove and place them on a wire rack to cool. If you don't take them out, but leave them in the still heated molds, you risk burning the delicious muffins.

Here is my favorite muffin recipe:

- spelt flour - 1 cup

- eggs - 2 pcs.

- brown sugar - 1/2 cup

- apples - 1 cup grated

- olive oil/oil - 1/3 cup

- baking powder - 1 pc.

- cinnamon - 1/2 tsp.

- raisins - 1/2 cup

- nuts of choice

- vanilla

Apple muffins

Eggs are beaten along with the sugar and fat. Add the grated apples. Mix the dry ingredients, make a well and add the wet mixture. Stir with a spoon. Grease the muffin tins on the inside and fill them up to 3/4 of their volume with the mixture. Bake the apple muffins in an oven preheated to 180°C for about 20 minutes. At the fifth minute, reduce to 160°C. Enjoy!
