"Juicy Lamb with Potatoes which I`ve promised myself to have present at the dining table more frequently."

Ingredients

  • lamb meat - 4.5 lb (2 kg) clod or leg
  • potatoes - 21 oz (600 g)
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • lovage
  • oil - 1 1/3 tbsp (20 ml)
  • paprika - 1 tablespoon, smoked
  • beer - 1 1/3 cups (330 ml)
  • vegetable broth - 1 1/5 cups (300 ml)

How to make

Smear the meat with a mixture of the oil, black pepper, paprika, salt and lovage. Rub it well, place in a tray, pour on the beer and cover the tray with aluminum foil.

Place the tray in a preheated 360°F (180 °C) oven and bake about 30 min., then lower the heat to 320°F (160 °C) and bake 2 hours.

Clean and chop the potatoes, take the meat out, remove the foil, place the potatoes around the meat, season with salt, black pepper and a little paprika.

Stir them in the fat released during baking and pour in the broth. Return the tray to the oven, turn it up to 360°F (180 °C) and bake another 30-40 min.
