Ingredients

  • pork shank - 1 with bone
  • potatoes - 2.6 lb (1.2 kg)
  • beer - 2 cups (500 ml)
  • water - 4/5 cup (200 ml)
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • paprika
  • savory herb
  • garlic - 6 cloves
  • oil - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 ml)

How to make

Place the shank and peeled and roughly chopped potatoes in a suitable baking dish.

If the potatoes are small, add them whole. Pour oil and add garlic cloves and spices. Mix with your hands and rub the spices into the shank.

Pour the beer and water. Cover with a lid or foil and bake at 360°F (180°C) for an hour and a half.

If the pork shank with potatoes is ready, remove the foil or lid and bake for another 30 minutes.
