How to make
Cut the sauerkraut, mix it with black pepper, paprika and your desired amount of cumin. Place it in a suitable baking pan and drizzle oil over it.
Place the pork shanks on top, rubbed on all sides with black pepper, paprika and cumin.
Add a little water or cabbage juice and bake for about 1 hour in a preheated oven at 390°F (200 degrees).
Reduce heat and bake for another 1-1.5 hours until the meat is fully cooked and the cabbage is left only in its fat.
Before serving, if desired, sprinkle with ground pepper. Enjoy!
