High-calorie, healthy foods

Many of us probably wonder if it is possible to eat products that are high in calories and at the same time not worry about our health and to a large extent about our weight. In most cases, these products are not expensive either.

We offer you a list of some quite high-calorie but healthy products:

Dried fruit

Dried fruit are high in sugar, which only adds to the impressive amount of calories these tasty treats contain.

Nuts and seeds

Rich in protein and in most cases, antioxidants, nuts are a great addition to your diet. They are packed with vitamins, minerals and fiber. Among other things, they are good for the heart and circulation. According to many health organizations, 50 g of walnuts a day significantly reduce the risk of heart attack.

Avocado

Avocado is high in calories, but healthy

Try to eat one avocado once a week - if it is large, divide it into 2-3 portions and consume it for 2-3 days. It is rich in vitamin K, dietary fiber and potassium. One medium-sized avocado contains 161 calories.

White cheese

Contains calcium and protein as well as saturated fat. 40 g of cheese per day is the healthy amount.

Olive oil

Olive oil is high in calories

The olive tree is the oldest cultivated in the world and olive oil is produced from it. Olives and olive oil are good antioxidants and are high in vitamins A, B, D, E and K. Vitamin K helps prevent internal bleeding and reduces menstrual flow. It is vitally important for proper liver function. Supports better absorption of calcium in the body. Depending on the type of olive, the oil can also have a fairly high content of zinc, iron, and lutein (in small amounts, it supports the overall health of the body).

Brown rice

A fairly healthy product that, in addition to containing a lot of fiber and protein, is also high in calories. One bowl of boiled rice contains 216 calories, so frequent consumption may also cause you to gain a little weight.

Sugar and sugary products

Sugar is high in calories

Sugar and sugary products, white flour and pastries, salt, sauces, carbonated drinks, pork, sausages, chips and alcohol remain the most harmful foods.

Let's not forget that white refined sugar is super harmful. What's more – apart from sugar, sugary products are also full of colourants, flavorings and various chemical additives. Obesity, diabetes, decayed teeth, arthritis are just some of the diseases that can be caused by the overuse of white refined sugar. It will be healthier to replace it with fruit, honey or at least brown sugar.

White flour and pastry foods

Bread and products made from white flour (rolls, baguettes, sponge cakes, etc.) slow down digestion. They are one of the main reasons for the development of diseases of the gastrointestinal tract. We recommend that you forget about white flour and replace it with whole grains.

Salt

Excessive use of salt leads to cardiovascular and kidney diseases. It also lowers the immune defense against colds. It's better to replace it with spices and herbs.

Sauces (mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, etc.)

Unhealthy sauces

These are chemical-calorie bombs that have no place on your table. Store bought sauces, dips, etc. can be the cause of various types of cancer, because of the bouquet of preservatives and enhancers in their composition.

Carbonated soft drinks

3 in 1 time bomb - sugar, preservatives and gases. Carbonated drinks are the cause of excess weight gain and gastrointestinal diseases. Drink more water, tea and soft drinks.

Chips

Chips should be given a special place on the list of the most harmful foods. This mix of carbohydrates and fats, wrapped in artificial enhancers and with the right amount of salt is a real enemy for your waistline and healthy living. Chips are obesity's best friend.

If you want a healthy alternative to junk food, prepare:

- healthy snack;

- home vegetable spreads;

- healthy smoothies;

- sugar-free desserts.
