How To Make Lemon Sugar?

Lemon sugar can be used just like regular sugar in recipes. It is used in the same way and in the same amount that you would use regular sugar in a recipe.

If you like lemon flavor, you can make lemon sugar at home in just a few minutes.

Most of the aroma in a lemon comes from the peel itself. If you look closely, you will see small "pores" on the peel of each lemon. Each of them contains intense lemon oil, which is responsible for most of the taste of the fruit.

To make lemon sugar you only need 2 lemons, 7 oz (200 g) of raw cane sugar and 1 tsp. rum.

Choose fresh and nice, undamaged lemons. Wash them thoroughly - it is important to clean the lemon peels well from all sorts of impurities that preserve them longer.

Using a fine grater, grate their peel. Grind the cane sugar with the help of a blender or a coffee grinder. The grated peel, rum and sugar are mixed well and stirred.

Pour the lemon sugar into a non greased pan. Leave it in a dry and cool place for a day or until it dries up well. Stir it, if necessary and then store the lemon sugar in a jar.
