How is Mulberry Juice Made?

Preparing mulberry juice at home is not very difficult, and the result exceeds all expectations.

For this you will need: mulberry, water (per 1 kg of fruit 1 cup of water), sugar (to taste) or a little lemon juice.

First, remove plant debris from the mulberry, wash it and dry it well. Place all the fruit in a deep, large saucepan and mash them well with a liquidizer.

Then pour the required amount of water, put the pot on a low heat, let it boil and cook for 5-7 minutes. Remove the pot from the heat and let it cool to room temperature.

Then strain the fruit juice through cheesecloth or through a sieve and through cheesecloth folded in several layers and return the juice into the pot. Add sugar to taste if you want a sweet juice. If you want the most healthy juice, pour some lemon juice instead of sugar.

Put the pot back on a low heat and bring to a boiling point, by stirring constantly. This takes about 5 minutes.

Pour the hot mulberry juice into sterile bottles or jars, close tightly and turn them with the lids upside down.

Leave them to cool to room temperature and move them to a cool place, preferably in the refrigerator.

This way the mulberry juice can be stored for 8 months or a little longer.
