"Colorful monkey bread - for flavor and good mood"

Ingredients

  • flour - 0.9 lb (400 g)
  • fresh yeast - 0.5 oz (15 g)
  • milk - 1 cup (250 ml)
  • sugar - 2 pinches
  • salt - 2 level top tsp.
  • yellow cheese - 4.6 oz (130 g)
  • butter - 1 tsp. + for spreading
  • white cheese - 2.1 oz (60 g) feta
  • eggs - 1 pc. for spreading
  • spices - fresh and dry for rolling (fresh parsley, dried dill, paprika, turmeric, etc.)

How to make

Dissolve the yeast in the slightly warmed milk with two pinches of sugar. Add 5.3 oz (150 g) of flour, mix, until a mixture is obtained and leave it for 15 minutes, by covering the bowl with a towel.

Pour the rest of the flour, salt and butter - at room temperature or melted - into the fluffy mixture.

Knead a smooth dough and cover it again in the bowl for 30-40 minutes, depending on the heat in the room.

During this time, prepare the spices of different colors in separate bowls. You can make as many colors as you like and as many flavors as you like.

I used fresh parsley, which I finely chopped, turmeric powder, sweet paprika and dried dill. In addition, grated yellow cheese can also be used for rolling, as well as white cheese, which, if it is very soft and cannot be grated, can be placed inside the balls that we will be shaped later.

Knead the dough once more for two to three minutes.

Separate the white from the yolk into two small bowls and beat them separately with a pinch of salt.

Cut the dough into balls a little larger than a walnut, roll them in egg white and then in yellow cheese, parsley or white cheese and those that you will dip in the dry spices, spread in advance with butter.

Arrange the balls in a greased rectangular cake tin with a capacity of 1.5 L. You can also in a round baking pan, of course.

Leave the colorful monkey bread to rise for about 40-50 minutes, then spread it generously with the yolk mixed with your remaining egg white. Shake gently, so that the egg gets between the balls of dough.

Bake the bread in a preheated oven at 390°F (200°C) for 30 minutes, or until it aquires a golden brown color.

This Monkey Bread is gorgeous and you can break it apart while it's still warm. Precisely, because it is irresistible, at home we never wait for it to cool down, so that I can cut it and the colors can be seen more prominently.
