How to make
Beautiful pears with stems are chosen and peeled, but leave the stems.
In a deep bowl, depending on the amount of pears (everything is by eye, in my case) add the juice of the two oranges, about a glass white wine, honey and sugar according to your taste, vanilla, orange and lemon peel, a few cloves and 1-2 star anise.
In this mixture, put the pears to boil over low heat and make sure to turn them on all sides.
When they soften, take them out and let the sauce boil until the syrup thickens.
Place one of the poached pears in a plate, cover it with sauce and if desired, white chocolate.
Decorate the princess pears with fragrant sauce and white chocolate with poppy seeds.
The pears can be made with red wine and in that case they will be pink.
Let me add that before they are arranged in the plate, their bottoms are slightly trimmed, so that they can stand straight up.
