"You`re not going to find Chinese buns in every Chinese restaurant but you can make them at home."

Ingredients

  • flour - 1 2/3 cups (400 g)
  • water - 2/5 cup (100 ml), hot
  • eggs - 1
  • lard - melted
  • salt
  • peanuts - crushed, or use sesame

How to make

Pour out the flour in a heap and add hot water to it spoon by spoon. Mix a tough dough, cover with a towel and leave to stand for 30 minutes. Then roll it out into a very thin crust of 0.1 (1-2 mm). Spread lightly with melted lard, fold in two and roll it out again.

Smear it with lard again, then fold it, etc. The procedure is repeated a total of 5 times. Then the dough is rolled out, and from there, round buns are cut out, with the aid of a glass.

Arrange in a greased oven dish, coated with beaten egg and sprinkle them with chopped peanuts or sesame. Bake in very hot oven until golden - brown. Serve with meat broth.
