Ingredients

  • dough - 17.5 oz (500 g) ready - made
  • feta cheese - 9 oz (250 g), or cheese
  • parsley - 3 tablespoons crushed
  • mixed spices - for sprinkling, or just use savory
  • butter - for greasing the buns and pan (or sach)
  • oil - for frying

How to make

Tear balls out of the dough. With greased hands, shape them into thin circles. Smear them with melted butter, sprinkle with crumbled feta, parsley and mixed spices / savory and fold into rolls.

Shape the rolls into twisted spirals and flatten with greased hands. Bake thus prepared gözleme in a pan with butter and olive oil on moderate heat on both sides.

Once you flip the pitas, gently push them with a spoon, to prevent them from puffing up. When ready, serve the gözleme with yogurt.
