How to make
Boil the cabbage and diced carrots in lightly salted water (6-8 min) until soft. In a bowl, bring the milk, cream, flour and butter to a boil, stirring to prevent burning. Add the basil.
Drain the cabbage and carrots, put them in a baking dish and pour the sauce from the oven dish over them. Sprinkle with grated cheese and bake in the preheated oven until it catches a crust (2-3 min).
Optionally, you can substitute the brussels sprouts with broccoli, cauliflower or the cheese with parmesan. To make it even more delicious, you can sprinkle it with walnuts on top, while fans of spicy food can put hot chili peppers on top.
