In times passed, recipes for homemade chocolate were highly popular and used extensively. Today, industrialization has lost them to oblivion. But even so, the experts know that homemade chocolate is always more appetizing than store-bought. Preparing it does not require any special efforts, which means you can include kids in the making process - the greatest fans of this temptation.
Homemade liquid chocolate is a suitable idea for dessert, as well as wonderful addition to cakes. Whatever the occasion may be, your loved ones will surely appreciate it. Here's how to make it:
Homemade Liquid Chocolate
Ingredients: 1 cup powdered dry milk, 1 cup sugar, 2/5 cup butter, 4 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa.
Preparation: Pour the powdered dry milk in a bowl and add the cocoa to it. Stir well until you get a homogeneous mixture.
Pour a cup of water and the sugar in a pot. Put on the stove on low heat. Once the sugar melts, add the butter, then stir well. You can flavor it with vanilla.
Once the butter melts, take the pot away from the stove. Add the powdered dry milk and cocoa. Stir thoroughly, best if you use a whisk. To make it even more beautiful, strain the hot chocolate through a sieve in order to get rid of all the small lumps and have it be fine and delicate.
Organic Homemade Chocolate
Ingredients: cocoa butter, raw powdered cocoa, virgin coconut oil, honey (or maple syrup), nuts, dried fruits, citrus rinds, vanilla pod seeds, amaranth, leaves of fresh mint or cayenne pepper.
Preparation: Melt 3 1/3 tbsp of cocoa butter in a water bath in a large container with hot water. After about 10 min, once fully melted, add 2 tablespoons of the raw powdered cocoa. Stir vigorously.
If desired, you can add maple syrup or honey to make it sweeter. Add nuts, fruits, rinds or wherever else you like as a filling.
Pour the resulting chocolate mixture onto a foil-covered surface. Leave it for about 20 min. in the refrigerator to set. Another option is to pour the mixture into various cookie cutters and shapes.
