How to Make the Perfect Sponge Cake Batter

Add the melted and cooled butter, flour and vanilla to this mixture and mix again carefully. The resulting mixture is baked in a greased pan, sprinkled with flour in a preheated oven at 200°C.

Ingredients needed: 6 eggs, 5 yolks, 350 g flour, 350 g sugar, 1 packet of vanilla, 50 g butter, grated lemon peel (optional).

Preparation method: For a smaller amount of sponge cake, reduce the ingredients by half. Beat the sugar, eggs and yolks over the heat until a thick cream is obtained. Remove the saucepan from the heat and, after it has cooled, carefully add the flour, vanilla, melted and cooled butter and, if available, lemon peel to the mixture. Mix everything again carefully and bake it in a greased pan sprinkled with flour in a preheated oven at 200°C.
