Grits are often seen on the food table. In different parts of the world, it is loved and often used. You can find it in almost any grocery store.
It is a great way to diversify the table and try something a little different. Moreover, it appears that it’s very healthy. Grits contain very high levels of micronutrients and vitamins. If we compare it with unvarnished rice, then grits will definitely win that battle. It contains many more vitamins and proteins, and decent amounts of fiber.

In case you want to cook 2 servings of a main dish, you need about 1 cup of grits. As with rice, grits should be rinsed well. The ratio of water to grits is 2 ½ cup of water to 1 cup of grits.
In case the liquid isn't enough to soften the grits, add more. Any additional water must be warm. They swell relatively quickly and do not require any prolonged heat treatment.

Tomatoes with grits
Products Required : 2/5 cup of grits, 3-4 tomatoes, a small head of onion, 3-4 cloves of garlic, tomato paste, parsley, black pepper, salt, olive oil, basil, walnuts
Preparation : Buy tomatoes that are not too ripe, cut the pedicles off and carve out the insides, leave to drain. Place the grits in water along with the finely chopped onion and spices. Once they swell, take away from the heat. Chop the garlic and walnuts and add to the grits, stir well. Fill the tomatoes with the mixture, put their tops back on and arrange them in a baking pan, previously greased, and add in the rest of the stuffing with the tomato juice. Bake in a preheated oven at about 360°F (180 °C).
Carrot salad with grits
Products Required : 10.5 oz of carrots, 1/2 cup grits, parsley, celery, salt, lemon juice, garlic and olive oil
Preparation : Boil the grits and allow it to cool. In the meantime, shred the peeled and washed carrots on a coarse grater, add them to the finely chopped parsley, 1 sprig of celery, salt, lemon juice, olive oil and crushed garlic. Once the grits have cooled, add them to other products and mix well. Allow the salad to cool and absorb the aromas for a few hours.
