How to make
Wash, peel and cut the potatoes into very thin round slices.
In an oven-safe container, smeared with garlic and butter, arrange the potatoes in layers like shingles.
Salt each layer, season with black pepper and pour on a little cream.
Separate the egg whites from the yolks and beat the yolks with the milk. Pour this mixture over the final layer of potatoes.
Distribute the butter into small pieces on top.
Bake at 390°F (200 °C) for 30 min. until golden.
Serve the gratin sprinkled with grated cheese.
