  • potatoes - 2.2 lb (1 kg)
  • onions - 1 small
  • yellow cheese - 7 oz (200 g)
  • smoked cheese - 5.3 oz (150 g)
  • liquid cream - 6.8 fl oz (200 ml)
  • milk - 1/2 cup (120 ml)
  • eggs - 4
  • oil
  • thyme
  • black pepper

How to make

The potatoes are peeled and cut into thin circles, and the onion - very finely. A dozen slices of potatoes are separated and the rest are mixed with the onion.

The cheese is grated on a coarse grater, and the smoked cheese is cut into small pieces. Half of the cheese is separated, and the rest is mixed together with the cheese and the potatoes.

Beat the eggs with the milk and cream and pour that over the potatoes. Sprinkle with thyme, black pepper and salt to taste.

Mix well and transfer to a greased baking pan. Arrange the remaining potatoes on top like a fan and sprinkle with the cheese that you set aside.

It is baked in an oven preheated to 390°F (200°C) for about an hour.
