"A traditional Bulgarian recipe that you have to try at least once!"

Ingredients

  • potatoes - 3.5 lb (1.5 kg)
  • butter - 1/2 cup (125 ml), or vegetable oil
  • onions - 7 oz (200 g)
  • black pepper - ground, to taste
  • salt - to taste
  • eggs - 1 - 2
  • feta cheese - 7 oz (200 g)
  • yoghurt - for serving

How to make

Peel, wash the potatoes and grate them on a coarse grater, salting to taste. Put the finely chopped onion to fry lightly in 1/2 of the preheated butter and add the grated potatoes.

Season with ground black pepper and mix well. Remove from the heat and mix in the beaten eggs and feta cheese. Stir the mixture well and pour into a baking dish.

Top with slices of butter and bake until it gets a nice tan in a moderate heated oven.
