How to make
Beat the eggs with 1 cup sugar very well. Add half the oil, the flour, baking powder and walnuts. Stir until you get a homogeneous mixture.
Divide the phyllo pastry sheets into 2. Arrange the first half in an oiled oven dish, cutting them into strips or crumbling them. Pour in the mixture and distribute it out evenly.
Put the 2nd half of the phyllo pastry sheets, again cutting/crumbling them. Heat up the rest of the oil and butter. Make incisions along the phyllo pastry and pour the the heated oil and butter in them. Bake until golden.
Make a syrup from the sugar and water. Pour it over the phyllo pastry but be sure that either the syrup is hot and the phyllo pastry cool or vice versa.
