How to make
Knead a smooth dough from the flour with a little salt and water. Divide the dough into balls and leave it to rest a little. Roll out each ball into a sheet.
Sprinkle each sheet with plenty of oil and walnuts. Wind it into a roll and place in a greased tray. Sprinkle the top with the remaining oil. Put the phyllo pastry to bake in moderately heated oven.
Once baked, pour a sugar syrup made from the sugar and 4 cups (1 liter) of water over the phyllo pastry. This is the original country-style recipe but I cut the ingredients for the syrup in half and prepared it with 2 cups (500 ml) of water and 2 cups (500 grams) of sugar.
