The caramel sauce is prepared in a 8.7″ (22 cm) diameter pan. Melt the sugar until dark or light caramel, you choose and add the butter.
Arrange sliced orange slices in a circle in the center and halves on the sides.
Pour the sponge cake mixture on top. Prepare by mixing the products in the order listed.
Bake at 360°F (180°C) without a fan for about 30 minutes.
Five minutes after removing from the oven, turn the caramel sponge cake onto a tray.
