"Going to Austria and not trying this soup is like going to Rome and... not eating pizza."

Ingredients

  • FOR THE BROTH
  • chicken legs - 2
  • onions - 1 head
  • carrots - 1
  • celery - 2 stalks
  • parsley - 3 stalks
  • chicken broth - 2 cubes
  • water - 1.5 gal (5 l)
  • FOR THE MEATBALLS
  • bread - 4 - 5 slices, hard
  • cheese - 7 oz (200 g), hard
  • onions - 1 small head
  • garlic - 5 cloves
  • paprika
  • black pepper
  • flour - 1 tablespoon
  • eggs - 1
  • milk
  • green onions - 1 bunch

How to make

Boil all the products for the broth whole, and the onions with its layers. Boil to full readiness of the drumsticks. Strain the broth. Crumble the bread into crumbs. Add the grated cheese.

Lightly sauté the finely chopped onion and garlic in a skillet. Add them to the bread. Add the egg, black pepper, paprika and flour and stir when adding the milk until you get a mixture suitable for shaping meatballs. Shape slightly elongated and flat meatballs.

Fry the meatballs in highly heated oil. Serve the soup hot and drop in the meatballs and chopped onion just before serving. Hope you like it and find it delicious :)
