Ingredients

  • flour - 1.3 lb (600 g)
  • fresh yeast - 1/2 cube (21 g)
  • sugar - 1 tbsp.
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • water - 1 2/3 cups (400 ml)
  • turmeric - 2 tsp.
  • olives - 10 pcs. green
  • olives - 10 pcs. black
  • bacon - 1.8 oz (50 g)

How to make

The yeast is dissolved along with the sugar in the warm water. The flour is sifted, the turmeric is added and a soft dough is kneaded with the rest of the ingredients. Let it rest for about 30 minutes. It is divided into three parts.

One part is rolled out into a rectangle and drizzled with olive oil and chopped green olives. Place the second rolled out crust on top. Spread with olive oil and sprinkle with diced bacon.

Cover with a third rolled out crust, also spread with olive oil and sprinkle with the chopped black olives. Roll it out carefully and put it in a rectangular mold.

The bread is left to rise, it is smeared with olive oil and several transverse cuts are made.

Bake at 390°F (200°C) for about 40 minutes. Remove it from the oven and spread it with olive oil.

The bread with turmeric and olives is ready.
