Peel the tomato and slice it.
The mozzarella is strained from the brine, in which it is stored and is also sliced.
Arrange the tomatoes on a plate, season them with salt and place a piece of mozzarella on each one, followed by a piece of the marinated dried tomatoes.
The fresh basil is chopped and spread generously on the Caprese salad. Drizzle it with olive oil or the oil, in which the dried tomatoes were - usually olive oil with some spice - oregano, basil.
Serve this classic Caprese with Dried Tomatoes with olives or olive paste, if desired.
