Ingredients

  • flour - 2 4/5 cups (675 g)
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • sugar - 2 tbsp
  • yeast - 1 2/3 tbsp (25 g), fresh
  • milk - 1 4/5 cups (450 ml), warm
  • tomato paste - 1 tbsp
  • dried tomatoes - 1/3 cup (75 g), drained
  • olive oil - 1/3 cup (75 ml) from the jar with the dried tomatoes + another 1/3 cup (75 ml)
  • onions - 1 head

How to make

Sift the flour with the sugar and salt and make a well in the middle. Mix the yeast with 2/3 cup (150 ml) warm milk and add it to the milk.

Mix the tomato paste with the remaining milk and pour into the flour with the 2 types of olive oil. Stir and knead a soft dough. Cover and leave in a warm area for 2 hours.

Knead the dough once again and mix it with the chopped tomatoes and onions. Form 4 bread buns and arrange them in an oiled tray.

Cover with a towel and leave them for 45 min. Heat the oven to 370°F (190 °C) and bake the bread for 45 min.
