  • fine filo pastry sheets - 8 - 10 pcs.
  • eggs - 2 pcs. XL
  • cottage cheese - 4 tbsp. with a tip
  • yellow cheese - 7 oz (200 g)
  • butter - or olive oil (for sprinkling and greasing)
  • salt - 2 - 3 pinches

How to make

Beat the two large eggs in a bowl, mix them with the cottage cheese, salt and grate the yellow cheese. The filling should be thick and the eggs should be absorbed by the other products.

Spread out the sheets on a slightly damp cloth so that the bottom ones do not dry out, as they may break when rolled up. Cut them in half.

Sprinkle each half of the crust with fat and spread a spoonful of the filling evenly. Wrap it in a thick thin cigar like shape and arrange them in a tray covered with baking paper.

Grease the savory sticks from filo pastry with melted butter or olive oil and put them in an preheated oven at 360°F (180 degrees).

Bake them until they aquire a golden brown color, for about 12 minutes. I bake them twice because I leave a space between them, so that they can aquire a nice color on all sides and be crispy. If they are tightly placed in the tray, this effect will not work and they will look more like a filo pastry pie.

When the savory sticks are ready, leave them to cool, if you can. Munch on them for breakfast or anytime. You can combine them in with different spreads and dips.
