"We call it village-style tomato chutney, but it should be written down as the most delicious tomato chutney in the world, with which we grew up with"

Ingredients

  • red peppers - 28 lb (13 kg)
  • oil - 3 cups (700 ml)
  • tomato puree - 2 jars (1.6 kg)
  • honey - 1 jar (400 g)
  • salt - 2 tbsp.
  • black pepper - 1 - 2 pinches
measures

How to make

First, remove the stems from the peppers, wash them well and roast them on the stove. After they cool down a bit, they are peeled and ground very finely.

Put the ground peppers in a large pot, add the tomato paste, honey, black pepper and as much salt as you desire.

In a separate pot pour 1.5 lb (700 g) of oil and heat it very well.

After that the oil is poured into the pot and stirred well until the mixture absorbs the oil.

Leave it for about 10-15 minutes and put it in jars. The jars are boiled for 20 minutes. After that take them out and and turn them upside down.
