Ingredients

  • flour - 1 2/5 cups (350 g)
  • eggs - 3
  • milk - 1/5 tsp (1 liter)
  • water - 1 cup
  • salt - 1/2 tsp
  • butter - 1 cup (250 g)
  • sugar - 4/5 cup (200 g)
  • vanilla - 1 packet

How to make

Knead a dough from the flour, water, and salt. Allow it to rest for a while and then divide it into balls. Roll out each ball into a thin sheet.

Smear each sheet with plenty of melted butter and cut it into strips. Grease a baking tray with butter and arrange the dough strips in it.

Put it to bake in a moderate oven until golden. Then, remove it from the oven and allow it to cool. Meanwhile, pour the milk and sugar in a pot.

Bring it to a boil and let the sugar melt. Once it has cooled slightly, add it to the beaten eggs and vanilla and then pour the mixture over the cooled sheets.

Bake the phyllo pastry in a moderate oven until the topping thickens. Serve the phyllo pastry warm, cut into squares.
