  • tomatoes - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • garlic - 3 cloves
  • olive oil - 1/2 cup (120 ml)
  • parsley - 1 bunch
  • salt - 2 tsp
  • black pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • sugar - 1 tsp
  • basil - 5 - 6 leaves

How to make

Sauté the chopped garlic and parsley in olive oil for a few minutes. Peel the tomatoes and chop them very finely.

Add them to the olive oil, together with all other ingredients and boil gently about 50 minutes, until thickened.

This is often served as a sauce for meat or meatballs.
