Eating meat

Many of us believe that vegetarians have an extremely balanced personality and live much healthier lives than we do. Is that really the case?

People become vegetarians for various reasons. Some of them, usually at an earlier age, choose this type of diet for moral reasons.

They consider it unethical to kill animals in order to use them for the consumption of meat. Other groups of people do not eat meat for religious reasons. Few of us become vegetarians for health reasons.

The fact is that food has a great impact on our health and a proper diet has a huge impact on it. A vegetarian diet is usually associated with a longer life and a reduced risk of the so-called diseases of the civilization such as cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, etc.

However, after a detailed study in the Mediterranean countries, it was found that our health does not depend only on whether we eat food of animal origin or not. The most important thing is how often we consume this type of food. Doctors recommend:

- It is enough to eat red meat once a week, such as beef, pork or lamb.

Becoming vegetarian

- You can eat white meat such as turkey, rabbit or chicken 2-3 times a week.

- Dairy products should be present in your menu every day.

- It is good to eat 3 eggs every week.

- It is recommended to eat fish at least 3 times a week, which can replace white meat.

If you have decided to become a vegetarian, you must have enough knowledge beforehand. Remember, your body will begin to lack certain vital nutrients such as vitamins and trace elements. For this reason, you should resort to additional intake of multivitamins and mineral complexes.

But is it healthy to eat vegetarian food if we have to intake a handful of artificial pills in addition to it? A balanced diet is the right choice.
