Cooking pasta, as easy as it sounds, is a real art. To keep the pasta from sticking, you need to follow a few simple rules.
1. Use a large and wide pot with thin walls and put a sufficient amount of water in it.
2. The pasta is poured into the water only after it boils well. It is necessary that bubbles appear on its surface. Otherwise, you risk your dish becoming sticky and unpleasant in taste and appearance.
3. Be sure to add sea salt after the water boils.
4. Never put oil or olive oil in the water in which the pasta is cooked. This will not prevent sticking, but rather will make the spaghetti (macaroni, tagliatelle, etc.) greasy and they will not absorb the sauce well, which will be poured over them afterwards.
5. Stir frequently, especially at the beginning of cooking. This is when the pasta can stick together. This is due to the starch granules on the surface of the pasta exploding during the first 60 seconds of cooking.
6. Cook the pasta for exactly the time indicated on the package. If you overcook it, you risk it becoming mushy.
7. Before removing it from the heat, taste it. It should be semi-cooked (al dente).
8. Do not rinse the pasta with cold water. Simply strain it in a colander.
9. It is good to have the pasta sauce ready so that you can add the strained pasta to it. Add it immediately, because if you leave it out in the air, the spaghetti will stick together quickly and will not taste or look good.
