Pork shoulder is a wonderful cut of meat coming from the shoulder area, which becomes extremely juicy and tender if it is slow cooked for several hours and it is not expensive at the store.

Always choose a piece that looks fresh and has a red-pink color, it is best to prepare it immediately, store it for a maximum of 3 days in the refrigerator, or store it in the freezer.

With pork shoulder, the probability of the meat becoming dry is very small, even if it is cooked a few minutes longer than it should be. There are many ways to prepare pork shoulder - you can cook the whole piece in the oven, you can also cut it into smaller pieces, it is suitable for stews and for minced meat.

Example ways to cook pork shoulder:

- stews - with peas, potatoes, carrots and onions/with potatoes, onions, peppers and tomatoes/with green beans;

- in the oven - steaks or the whole piece, served with a separate garnish (mushroom or another sauce, mashed potatoes, roasted vegetables or just potatoes). It can also be made in a baking bag, either with rice or with vegetables;

- stewed pork - with leeks/yellow onions and mushrooms;

- guvec - with lots of vegetables like onions, potatoes, carrots, peppers, tomatoes, along with spices and fat, all in a big guvec;

- wine kebab;

- pan-fried bites;

- pork roll;

- grilled;

- if the meat is grinded, then there are many more options - kebabs, meatballs (baked, fried, grilled), stuffed peppers, meatball soup, meatballs with white/tomato sauce, lasagna, moussaka, sarma, meatloaf, spaghetti Bolognese, casserole.
