How to Make Avocado Oil?

Avocado ranks among the healthiest foods in the world. Also known as the crocodile pear, it has a rich nutritional composition and distinctive taste qualities that make its use in the culinary world invaluable.

The composition of the avocado includes more than 20 types of vitamins, minerals, amino acids, useful fats and fibers. Due to the benefits of the fruit, people began to take advantage of every part of the avocado, by preparing various medicines and cosmetics.

Avocado oil is high in calories and provides invaluable benefits for skin hydration and proper nutrition. It has strong protective and regenerating properties, which make it the ideal remedy for cracked and dry skin on the hands and body.

How to make avocado oil

For the oil you need 2 avocados. First, you need to cut them in half, extract the pulp and then discard the stones. Get a masher to mash the pulp from both fruit in a bowl for about 2-3 minutes.

Another option is to blend the pulps with a chopper, then the texture will be finer. 25 ml of oil are obtained from two avocados. Depending on the desired quantity, you can increase the quantity.

Then you place a flat, oven friendly surface and spread the mashed avocado on top.

It should be maximally spread out into a thin layer. Now you have two options: let the avocado dry for 1-2 days in the sun or speed up the process by drying it in the oven. If you choose the oven, the recommended temperature is no more than 120°F (50°C).

Once it aquires a dark color, take out the avocado and place it in cheesecloth or a piece of cloth and wrap it. Grab a container, place the towel with the avocado on top and start squeezing hard, until the oil extract drips. This way you extract naturally pure avocado oil.

So now, in addition to eating your favorite avocado sandwiches or guacamole, you can now extract your own avocado oil.
