If you're a fan of butter and are wondering how long it can be kept in the fridge for - then read this advice all the way through.
Usually, butter has a fairly long shelf life, unlike some other dairy products, because it contains quite a large amount of fat. But like most dairy products, butter also has an expiration date.
Even the fact, that the date, on which the expiration date of the butter is indicated has passed, this in no way means, that the butter should be thrown away. You can only use butter past its expiration date if it has been stored properly.
If the butter is unopened, you can use it even 2-3 months after its expiration date. If it has already been opened and the expiration date has passed, it can be used within 1-2 months after that.
How best to store butter?
One of the best ways to store butter is in the refrigerator. In most cases, the butter in stores is sold in foil, which protects it from light and air.
The butter, which is well sealed with its own packaging and with foil, is also protected from the absorption of various fats. It is a good idea to keep the butter on the shelves of your refrigerator, not on the door, so that it can be at a good temperature at all times.
