How is Rose Water Made?

Rose water is a divine gift that can be prepared only from the oil-bearing rose, named Rosa Damascena. Only the Bulgarian oil-bearing rose has these unique qualities due to the unique climate of Bulgaria.

To get rose water you need 15 kilograms of fresh pink rose petals and 60 liters of water. The secret is in the ratio of oil-bearing rose and water, which must be observed and is always 1:4.

The rose petals are mixed with water and subjected to a heat treatment called steam distillation.

The steam distillation process is carried out in the respective distillation apparatus. The steam distillation device is very similar to the brandy boiling pot. It must be made of metal copper.

After distillation, the steam is cooled. Cooling is a necessary process of liquefaction of steam.

The finished rose water must be transferred for storage in glass containers, the most commonly used are glass bottles.

The rose water produced in this way is a magic product that contains about one percent rose oil and is rich in vitamins and flavonoids, which are important for the good appearance and strength of the skin.

It is important to note that rose water, that is of good quality is not pink.

Real rose water is so healthy and harmless, that it can be applied even on delicate baby skin.
