How to Dry Wild Garlic?

Wild garlic is an extremely healthy vegetable. However, picking wild garlic should be done carefully, because the plant can often be confused with the beautiful but poisonous flower - lily of the valley.

Wild garlic can be used both fresh and dried and once well dried it can be used chopped or crushed. If you have decided to dry wild garlic, you have two options that are recommended.

The first method has been known for a long time and that is drying it in the sun for about 10 days. With this type of wild garlic drying, it is important, that the leaves are cleaned, washed and dried very well.

The next thing you need to do is arrange them on a flat surface - a cotton towel or a special grill for drying, in the air and sun. This method is said to be the healthiest way of drying all kinds of fruit and vegetables, because then they are charged by solar energy and the drying process is the most natural.

Once the wild garlic has dried, it must be carefully collected and stored in a cloth bag that will not allow moisture to form, which in turn will lead to mold and to damage the vegetable.

Of course, nowadays there are more modern ways, like the devices for drying fruit and vegetables, which provide faster drying than the traditional method.
