A clogged drain line can cause a refrigerator to leak.
If the drain is blocked, the water can go back up into your freezer. This water can then seep into the fresh food and eventually onto the floor.
If you don't take care of the water, it will freeze in the air ducts and cause the refrigerator to stop cooling.
Side-by-side bottom freezers and freestanding freezers will have water on the bottom. Once the bottom has ice, the water will escape through the door onto the floor.
You can clean the drain line with a special brush, which you can buy from a specialty store. This can also be done using a regular medical syringe, but it's best to call a technician.
Access to sewage
Open the drain first if your refrigerator is leaking due to a blocked drain line. The method of accessing the drain will vary depending on what type of refrigerator you have. The drain line will always be located directly below the evaporator.
