Gift jars of homemade fig jam to your family and friends. This is the perfect addition for fresh bread at breakfast or you can try adding it to yogurt - a fantastic taste.
Required products:
ripe figs - 6.6 lb (3 kg) cut into quarters
crystal brown sugar - 2.2 lb (1 kg)
lemon - 1 squeezed lemon
geranium - 4-5 leaves
Method of preparation:
STEP 1
To start making the fig jam, put the washed and sliced figs and geranium in a pot in the fridge, sprinkle them with sugar and leave them overnight. The next day, they will have released their water.
Transfer them into a baking pan and then place them in a preheated oven at 340°F (170°C). Add the lemon juice. Bring them to a boiling point and cook them, while stirring occasionally, until the fig jam thickens slightly. Make sure to remove the foam that rises to the surface. Remove it from the oven and leave it for 10 minutes.
STEP 2
Distribute the mixture into sterilized jars. Close them with lids and leave the jam to cool completely, by turning the jars upside down. They can be stored unopened for six months and refrigerated for 2 weeks after opening.
Now it's time to make some cheesecake with figs or cake with figs! Enjoy!
