Ingredients

  • lamb legs - 1 leg of lamb, about 3.5 lb (1.5) kg
  • beer - 2 cups (500 ml)
  • vodka - 3 1/3 tbsp (50 ml) or brandy
  • black pepper - the eyeball it
  • cumin - 1/2 tsp
  • mint - 1/2 tsp
  • savory - 1/2 tsp
  • basil - 1/2 tsp
  • paprika - 1 tsp, hot
  • salt - to taste
  • oil - to 3 1/3 tbsp (50 ml)
  • nuts - 2 tablespoons, crushed, or sesame seeds for sprinkling

How to make

Take the lamb leg and rub it with garlic. Mix the beer with the alcohol, a little oil and all the spices and stir well. Place the leg of lamb in a buttered baking dish.

Cover the meat evenly with some of the marinade. Cover with foil and allow it to marinate in the refrigerator for 2 hours.

Then remove the foil and add the remaining marinade, then wrap it again with foil.

Put it to bake at 390°F (200°C) for 40 minutes at first, then reduce to 360°F (180°C) and bake for another 2 hours, depending on the age of the lamb.

Shortly before removing the roasted lamb from the oven, remove the foil, pour lightly with the marinade and sprinkle with nuts or sesame seeds. Bake for another 5-10 minutes and remove from the oven.
