Ingredients

  • sauerkraut - 1 head, small to medium size
  • potatoes - 17.5 oz (500 g)
  • eggs - 2
  • garlic - 1 large clove
  • paprika
  • black pepper
  • cumin
  • thyme

How to make

Mash the sauerkraut through a meat grinder or in a blender and drain it well.

Peel the potatoes, cut and boil them.

Mix these 2 products, add the spices, 1 egg and knead a mince-like mixture. Leave it to sit 10-15 min.

Oil a tray, form schnitzels, arrange them in it and smear them with the 2nd beaten egg using a silicone brush.

Bake in a preheated oven until reddened.

Serve with garlic sauce or yoghurt.

I am a bit confused about the first ingredient: Is this supposed to be raw fresh white cabbage, or fermented white cabbage (sauerkraut)?
Normally, sauerkraut doesn‘t come in whole heads. ?
