"What we have for you today is a fantastic phyllo pastry from Greek cuisine with its fantastic orange flavor and tender filling."

  • sugar - 1 cup
  • baking powder - 2 tsp (10 g)
  • orange zest - of 2 oranges
  • phyllo pastry - 9 oz (250 g), sheets
  • syrup
  • sugar - 1 cup
  • water - 1 cup
  • orange juice - of 2 oranges
measures

How to make

Heat the oven to 370°F (190 °C). Cover a suitable rectangular oven dish with baking paper.

Whip the eggs and sugar well. Add the orange zest and baking powder. Tear the phyllo sheets into small pieces into the egg mixture.

Stir and leave them to soak for 2-3 min. Bake in the preheated oven until ready. Leave it to cool completely.

To make the syrup, bring the water and sugar to a boil until the sugar melts completely. Add the orange juice and leave to cool completely.

Pour the cooled syrup over the cooled phyllo pastry. Leave the pastry to take in the syrup for at least 2-3 hours.

An extremely juicy and aromatic dessert that's also easy to make. Try it!
