"Everyone has at least one favorite recipe for pickled gherkins. Then again, we never turn down someone else`s either."

Ingredients

  • gherkins - 22 lb (10 kg)
  • onions - 2 lb (1 kg)
  • black pepper - 5 packs, peppercorns
  • dill - a few sprigs
  • wine vinegar - 2 bottles
  • salt
  • sugar

How to make

Add one teaspoon of salt and sugar to medium-sized jars.

Add 3-4 grains of black pepper and 2-3 pieces of coarsely chopped onions. Thoroughly wash the gherkins and put them into the prepared jars.

Fill the jars with vinegar, up to the rim.

Add a sprig of dill and close the jars. Boil for 10 minutes to sterilize them.
