"Why, why don`t I eat rabbit meat more often I wonder?"

Ingredients

  • rabbit - 28 oz (800 g)
  • onions - 3 heads
  • carrots - 3
  • celery - 1/2 head
  • potatoes - 7
  • salt - 1 pinch
  • black pepper - 1/2 tsp
  • bacon - 3.5 oz (100 g)
  • garlic - 12 cloves
  • tomato sauce - 6 tbsp
measures

How to make

Cut the meat into coarse pieces and carefully cut each of those in turn with a sharp knife, so that you can stuff pieces of bacon and peeled garlic cloves in.

On the bottom of each clay pot, place some of the meat, sprinkle with salt and black pepper. On top, put roundly sliced onions, roundly sliced carrots, 1 tsp tomato sauce. Put the finely chopped or grated celery next and then the coarsely chopped potatoes.

Pour in water, 2/3 up in the pot. Place in a cold oven and bake about 1 hour at 390°F (200 °C). Serve in the clay pots. If you don't have clay pots, you can bake in an oven dish.
