Ingredients

  • figs - 4.4 lb (2 kg) ripened
  • sugar - 3.3 lb (1.5 kg)
  • lemon juice - from 2 lemons
  • vanilla - 2 powders (0.2 g each) or 2 tsp. essence

How to make

Wash the figs and remove the stems. Sprinkle with sugar, vanilla and add the lemon juice.

Leave them like this in the refrigerator for a few hours, stirring at least twice during this time.

Put them to boil on a stove at a moderate temperature. As soon as they boil and foam forms, remove it with a slotted spoon.

The unique fig jam is boiled to the desired thickness. Stir periodically to prevent it from burning.

While still hot, pour it into dry jars, which are tightly closed and turned upside down.

Wrap them with a warm towel and leave them like this until the jars cool down.
