"The aroma of baked figs as they are made into jam is irresistible!"

Ingredients

  • ripe figs - 3.3 lb (1.5 kg)
  • sugar - 1.6 lb (750 g)
  • water - 2 1/2 cups (600 ml)
  • citric acid - 3 tbsp (20 g)

How to make

Wash the figs and cut off the stalks carefully. Cut them in half and put them in a large deep tray. Sprinkle them with the sugar and pour the water on top.

Bake in a heated oven at 360°F (180°C) for about 2 hours without stirring.

Remove the tray and mash the figs with a wire whisk. Then puree them.

Add the citric acid and mix well.

Distribute it into small dry jars while the jam is still hot and turn them upside down.

You don't need to sterilize them.

The homemade fig jam is ready.
