How to make
The products are for the amount of beetroot probiotic prepared in a 2-liter glass jar.
The jar must be very well washed, you can additionally heat it in the oven to sterilize it.
Wash and peel the beets. Cut them into small cubes or sticks. Place them in the jar. Pour spring or filtered tap water, just enough to cover the vegetable. Add salt in a ratio of 1.1 oz (30 g) per liter of water.
If desired and for more flavor, you can add 1/2 cup of whey from homemade yogurt, a small piece of peeled and thinly sliced ginger and a halved clove of garlic. But even without these additives, our homemade beetroot probiotic is very tasty and healthy.
The jar is closed with a lid, without tightening. Instead of a lid, you can use several layers of cheesecloth attached to the neck of the jar with an elastic band.
Leave it at room temperature and be sure to stir the contents of the jar with a wooden spoon to release the gases from the fermentation. If white foam appears, remove it with a spoon.
Once the liquid begins to carbonate (air bubbles appear), you can move it to the refrigerator to stop the fermentation process.
Consume 1.7 fl oz (50 ml) of the strained liquid morning and evening 30 minutes before meals for 3 months.
Beets have a pleasantly sour and savory taste, you can make red salads, vegetable winter soups or healthy smoothies from it.
This unique red beetroot drink is a wonderful homemade probiotic with incomparable health benefits.
Stay healthy!
